Welcome to My Little House!

Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted a dollhouse. Sure...I had the Barbie Dreamhouse and the Townhouse and the Yacht...but having a 1/12 scale wooden, elaborate dollhouse was my dream. My dream came true when I found one in the paper! I would like to share my experience from start to finish and maybe give someone some ideas on the way. Hope you enjoy!

Updated 10/2010

Playroom -  I have Raggety Ann and Andy border.  Pink carpeting is actual fabric from Walmart.

Blue bedroom with curtains.

The porch is on finally!!!  I finshed the outside with brink pattern printed onto phot paper and it turned out pretty nice.  I have to finish staining the shingles and it will be complete.

Just one more room to go!  The attic room is going to have a bar and pool table.  What a fun project!!!

Bottles for the Bar

I had to show you this one.  Anyone who knows me , knows that this is my drink of choice....Not anymore mind you...but still.  We plan on making the attic area a gameroom with bar, pool table...and who knows what else.  I just got a head start with the booze!

I search google images for bottle labels and then sized them appropriately to the bottle I purchased.  This can easily be done on MS Publisher.

Doors

These are the front doors.  Not installed yet but ready to go.  I used the transparancies again here  and printed on my own printer.  You can save a ton of money by using your imagination.

These are the dining room bay doors.  I have to say that these turned out fantastic.  I wish I could afford a set like these at my real house : )

Hallway and Almost finished 2nd Bedroom

The windows I did with the inkjet transparencies and copy and pasted a pattern I liked.  The floor is sample flooring found at Lowes (freebees).  We found a nice wood patterned wallpaper and I copy and pasted and printed on photo paper.  The rest is just acrylic paints.
I went with a underwater theme in this room and used tropical fish border.  The carpet is a very light blue and I plan on making curtains for the windows.  Check back later to see the updates....

Bathroom Finished

The bathroom has white tiled floor sheet.  The wallpaper is photo paper and the curtains were made from fabric trim.  I even stocked the cabinet with fresh towels.

Living Room

Living Room is complete.  I may add sheers to the bay windows...not sure yet.  I went with a nautical theme.  The lighthouse border and wallpaer are printed on photo paper from my printer!  Pretty cool huh?!?  Just need to put the front doors in.

Stocked The Kitchen Cupboards

I painted little pieces of dowel rod that I sliced with my dremel, then glued on little labels printed from a free website.  The cookie and cereal boxes came from that site too.

Dining room Almost Complete...Just have to add Doors

I hope I am getting better at making food out of clay. I finished the dining room table and made a feast ! I hope it makes you hungry!

Comforter Sets

These were done with the scraps from Walmart. They look good enough to climb into! I actually used pillow stuffing to stuff the pillows. The Blue Bed set has Light blue satin sheets.

Windows

Don't be afraid to experiment. I did not like the factory windows...they were plain and boring. So...I went to Office Depot and bought some ink jet transparencies and made my own! I hope you like!
